Appropriate Conduct

Career Center

Once again, we’re working on building a helpful and resourceful spot for job seekers, recruiting libraries, and advisors to connect at PLA Conference. The Career Center will have coordinated events at select times, but will remain open during conference hours to enable job posting or impromptu interviews. More »

Coat/Bag Check

Coat/bag check is in the main lobby atrium of the Colorado Convention Center.

CPLA Re-certification Hours

First Aid

A first-aid room, staffed by an EMT and supplied with over-the-counter medications (e.g. bandages, aspirin), is located at the end of the 500 meeting rooms in the Colorado Convention Center. If you experience a medical emergency in the Colorado Convention Center, then please call the PLA Office at 303-228-8450 or 303-228-8451 and we’ll dispatch the EMT to your location. You may also dial 200 from any white house phone in the convention center.

Gender-Neutral Restrooms

Gender-neutral restrooms are located past Materials Pickup and the registration area Internet Cafe, along the backside of the 300 meeting rooms in the Colorado Convention Center.

Internet & WiFi

Complimentary WiFi

Connect to the Colorado Convention Center’s “Complimentary WIFI” network (not available in Exhibits Hall or Bellco Theatre) for e-mail and text-based applications. Sign-in required.

Internet Cafes

The Exhibits Hall Internet Cafe, and the Cyber Cafe in the registration area (lower lobby), are where you can check e-mail, confirm flights, and stay connected with the office and home throughout the conference.

WiFi Lounge

Relax and catch up with the office and home in the Exhibits Hall WiFi Lounge.

Local Information Desk

Volunteers from the surrounding area staff the Local Information Desk, located in the registration area of the Colorado Convention Center.

Lost and Found

If you’ve lost something, check in the PLA Office, A Mezzanine in the Colorado Convention Center, to see if it’s been found.

Mobile App

Attendees can access full event schedule, evaluate sessions, customize their own agenda, and compete in the Extraordinary Exhibits photo challenge game on the PLA 2016 mobile app. More »

A New Mothers’ Room is located in room 101 of the Colorado Convention Center.

PLA Office

The PLA Office is located in A Mezzanine in the Colorado Convention Center. You can access the A Mezzanine from any of the lobbies using Elevator A, across from registration, and press the MZ button to get to the Mezzanine. You can also access A Mezzanine from Exhibit Hall A using Stairwell 30. The office phone numbers will be 303-228-8450 and 303-228-8451.

Please note: Local laws require the collection of tax on all purchases unless you have a tax exempt letter issued by the City and County of Denver. Tax exempt letters issued by other cities/states will not suffice as proof of tax exempt status.

Shipping Center

Pack up and ship home all of your exhibitor finds and Denver souvenirs at the Shipping Center in the Exhibits Hall.

Shuttle Service

Denver offers a free 16th Street shuttle called the MallRide. This hybrid vehicle scoots up and down the 16-block tree-lined retail core of downtown Denver, also home to hotels, restaurants, office buildings, residences, and public spaces. The MallRide runs just a short walk from the Colorado Convention Center.

Water

Drinking fountains with bottle-filling stations are near restrooms in the Colorado Convention Center. Water coolers will also be available in the meeting room hallways.

Cancellation Policy

Written cancellations, requests for refunds, and/or changes will be accepted until February 26, 2016, and are subject to a $30 handling fee. Refunds will be processed after April 25, 2016. According to PLA policy, all meal events require preregistration. The above cancellation/change information also applies to all preconferences, meal events, and tours.

The PLA 2016 Conference is offered on a cost-recovery basis. PLA reserves the right to cancel all or any part of this event if there is insufficient registration or for other reasons. Neither ALA nor PLA is responsible for cancellation charges assessed by the airlines or travel agencies, or other losses incurred due to the cancellation of the workshops. All information listed on this website is subject to change.

Attire

There is no formal dress code at the PLA Conference. What’s most important is to dress for comfort.

Conference Logo

The custom logos of the PLA 2016 Conference are the property of PLA. Anyone wishing to use the logos in their communications and promotional materials must: 1) Seek permission from PLA; and 2) Submit communication/artwork incorporating the logo to PLA for final approval. The logo may not be modified and must be reproduced in its entirety (i.e., no outlines, cropping). To request the use of the logo, companies should contact Carly DiVito at Corcoran Expositions at 312-541-0567 or carly@corcexpo.com; all others should contact PLA at 800-545-2433 x5PLA (x5752) or pla@ala.org.

Firearms

No carrying of firearms allowed in the Colorado Convention Center unless you’re on-duty law enforcement or off-duty and on payroll of the show or SMG (convention center management).

Most conference events—including all preconferences and concurrent program sessions—will take place in the Colorado Convention Center (CCC), 700 14th Street, Denver, CO 80202. Additional events will be held at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center, 650 15th Street, Denver, CO 80202, and other venues as indicated.
