Don’t Worry… We’re Only Going to Change Everything
Friday, April 8, 2016, 10:45 AM - 11:45 AM
Colorado Convention Center, Room Mile High Ballroom 3-4
On its 100th anniversary, one library hit the restart button with a fearless but thoughtful leap into the future that took nothing for granted. We will share the importance of a bold, shared vision; how that vision enabled the team to step away from standards – not only nibbling at the edges, but reimagining the library from the ground up; and how that spirit allowed the library to change.
At the end of this session, participants will:
1: Consider, compare, evaluate, and select highest priority public service goals to provide relevant service and guide a transformation project.
2: Manipulate the lighting, volume, finishes, and furniture to define an invigorating yet comfortable, people centered aesthetic that embodies the vitality of your services.
3: Work with staff, board, and design team to facilitate structured but flexible planning process that shapes spaces, services and staff roles to emerging service patterns.
The session organizer(s) identified this session as appropriate for:
Level 2: People with some knowledge, who want to increase their understanding.
This session will have: Low interaction: single speaker/panel with Q&A at the end of the program
